    Requested FAQs Answered

    • Q: Are dress shirts supposed to be tight?
    • A: Yes and no. It is a personal preference on how dress shirts need to fit and it depends on how the person feels in it. The rule of thumb is that you dont want the buttons to be pulling when standing still or slightly moving.
    • Q: Are dress shirts supposed to be baggy?
    • A: Not so much anymore. The trend for dress shirts are more fitted these days. The 90s box cut is out. As far as how much room you need, is up to each person. Some are great with just a couple inches of play in the chest and waist, and other prefer 4-5 inches, but the cut of the pattern is still tapered for todays trendy fit.
    • Q: Are dress shirts out of style?
    • A: If we answered yes to that, we would not have created a business around them! Dress shirts are more in style today than in many years! The difference is that shirts made today have more personality to them than just plain colored shirts.
    • Q: Are dress shirts dry clean only?
    • A: Dry clean will always give the best results for getting stains out and pressing the Shirts to perfection. But if you go to a dry cleaners, please make sure you go to a bigger and more reputable one because some have many outdated machines that may be causing harm to your dress shirts. But the answer is no, the shirts will do best in cold cycle and hang to dry. Heat will wear down the cotton fibers and also can shrink the shirts!
    • Q: Are dress shirts with pockets out of style?
    • A: As of current times, yes. If you are a fan of the versatility of the pocket, it is currently not a popular request.
    • Q: Can dress shirts be tailored?
    • A: Yes. The most common 2 things people have tailored on the shirts are the sides between the chest and the waist and also the sleeve length.
    • Q: can dress shirts go in the dryer?
    • A: It is not recommended to dry any dress shirts. The heat wears down the cotton fibers and wears them out. It also shrinks them. Some say you can try to do a moisture cycle and for a short time to help de-wrinkle a shirt.
    • Q: Can dress shirts be shortened?
    • A: Yes, all dress shirts can easily be shortened by a tailor.
